Note from Encoder
This is the BluRay encode of The Ninth Gate (1999). This is based off a brand new 2026 4K Restoration. A slow-burn occult thriller directed by Roman Polanski, The Ninth Gate follows a rare book dealer drawn into a dangerous search for a legendary text rumored to summon dark forces. Audio is English Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 with Dolby Atmos. Also included is a commentary by director Roman Polanski. Some trivia: The film is loosely based on the novel The Club Dumas by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, though it focuses more on the occult subplot than the literary mystery. Emmanuelle Seigner plays a deliberately ambiguous character whose true nature is never fully explained, contributing to the film’s mystique. Enjoy!
